Wordpress Static Page

September 23rd, 2007 by Martin

I prefer to have a traditional home page which explains a little of what my website is about with menu navigation for visitors to read the blog or whatever. It wasn’t obvious how I could do this with Wordpress, thankfully a quick Google turned up the answer in the discussion below…

When combined with the WordPress Navigation Tool (NAVT) I get exactly what I am after :-)

    G’day,

Love your layout. Iknow you are not a tech site but just thought you may have a simple solution. I am a newbie to WP.Your layout is exactly as I would like mine.I created a static home page but I am getting 2 headings saying ‘home’. What have i done wrong? I am using Mandigo too (the blue one). Your help would be appreciated as I cant find an answer ( that i understand anyway) in WP help. Many,Many thanks Dane (Australia)

Hi, All you need to do is login to your Wordpress admin and go to Presentation -> Theme Options and then find the Pages to Exclude from Header Navigation section. Simply untick the pages you do not want displayed in the navigation header.
